FIRST COLONY COFFEE & TEA WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT/ CEO
(November 2, 2007) NORFOLK, VA –
Miguel A. Abisambra took over as the president and chief executive officer of First Colony Coffee & Tea on October 1, 2007. Mr. Abisambra is thrilled to be joining the First Colony team and is excited about where the company is headed. As president, Mr. Abisambra plans to continue the steady growth of First Colony, and achieve even higher levels of success.

Mr. Abisambra joins First Colony after working for nineteen years as the chief operating officer for the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC), the world’s largest single origin coffee exporter. Abisambra’s responsibilities included managing the supply chain of the green coffee exports worldwide as well as being in charge of the operations of the roasting plant and distribution center for the Juan Valdez coffees. He also represented the FNC in several companies as a member of Board of Directors.
The new CEO earned a degree in economics and specialized graduate degrees in international business and management.
