First Colony’s new packaging sets the stage for their next 100 years.
(April 23, 2007) NORFOLK, VA – First Colony announced today they will begin shipping their new 12oz and 2oz coffee bags this week and bags will appear on retailer shelves soon. First Colony’s new rich golden packaging reflects the company’s 105 year heritage. “We feel our new bags speak to our past and set the stage for our future,” says Charlie Cortellini, President and CEO.
Cortellini believes First Colony’s attention to detail in the arduous roasting process produces a product that is second to none. “I know once we get our coffee in your hands, you will be a customer for life.” Cortellini attributes the quality and taste to the company’s commitment to tradition. Only four people have held the position of master roaster over the company’s 105 year legacy. Each master roaster instructs his successor in the art of cupping the coffees, creating the blends and roasting to perfection.
“The First Colony brand is distinctive and it needed a style to match the long tradition of making some of the world’s finest coffees. We think we helped accomplish that goal,” said Joe Takach of the Meridian Group who spearheaded the re-branding effort.
