FIRST COLONY COFFEE & TEA INTRODUCES SPECIAL RESERVE LINE OF COFFEES
(December 7, 2007) NORFOLK, VA –
First Colony Coffee and Tea Company is pleased to announce a new line of Special Reserve coffees that include a Cup of Excellence™ winner from the La Alianza Estate in Colombia and a Fair Trade Certified™ coffee from Rwanda. These coffees are limited edition products, and are made with the finest of Arabica coffee beans.
As a grower-owned company, First Colony understands how important it is to support coffee farmers – we are proud to offer La Alianza Estate, a truly rare and special coffee, in support of one of our very own grower-owners, and the Rwandan coffee in support of a rebuilding nation.

In the mountains overlooking the small town of Santa Rita, Colombia, Leonardo Ruiz Cardona and his family carefully tend Arabica Caturra coffee trees. As the owners of La Alianza farm, Leonardo has worked hard to improve the quality of life for his family and his efforts have been rewarded—his coffee is a Cup of Excellence winner. The most prestigious coffee award in the world, the Cup of Excellence competition selects the best coffee produced in a given country for a particular year.La Alianza Estate is medium roasted to perfection and has bright fruit, clove and sweet notes. Each cup presents a unique expression of microclimate and variety.
