COFFEE FACTS

Coffee must be grown at an elevation of at least 1,500 meters to be considered high-grown or hard bean.

An acre of coffee trees can produce up to 10,000 pounds of coffee.10,000 pounds of coffee yields about 2,000 pounds after hulling and milling.

There are two main ways to process coffee cherries. Dry (unwashed) or wet (washed). Both processes yield a stable product.

With the exception of Hawaii and Puerto Rico, coffee is not grown in the United States or its territories.
